Between both personal and professional challenges, I know the above statement to be so very true. I would not have been able to function if it werent for the support of my friends. Similarly, despite recent challenges, our organization continues to thrive due to the enduring support of its friendsour members and Elizabeth Barrall Werley, MD, FACEP leaders alike.PACEP President 2025-2026As most know by now, we lost Jan Reisinger, PACEPs Executive Director, to a briefbut brave battle with pancreatic cancer in April. To many of us she was more than a colleague, becoming a dear friend and like family to some. We often had to ask Jan to focus on her health instead of us, as her love for PACEP was evident to the end. Even in an advanced stage of illness and under active treatment, Jan attempted to With tremendous thanks toaddress issues and always asked about PACEP when we visited her.our planning committee,For those who knew Jan well, they knew of her keen attention to detail. This is spearheaded by Drs.perhaps why it hurt even more when her medical leave became inevitable, as Alexandra Amaducci andthere was a period of weeks to months where normal PACEP business wasnt Jason Burkett, I hope you allso normal. Much thanks to PACEPs preceding President and my dear friend, Dr. would agree with me as toJennifer Savino, for doing such a phenomenal job in keeping our organization the overwhelming success offunctioning despite these challenges. With Dr. Rich Hamilton as Immediate Past our Scientific Assembly.President providing key institutional knowledge, and so many additional members of the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and committee leads pitching in, it is truly amazing what PACEP has accomplished in the last few months. PACEP is also fortunate to have several accessory friends of the organization who flexed their talents and worked outside their normal roles to lend us a hand, and for that I am tremendously grateful. And finally, I appreciate you, our members, who demonstrated kindness, support, and patience while we worked through one of our darkest times.As I said in my Presidents speech during our annual business meeting, I plan to use this time to look ahead to the future.
