CALL FOR
Every ACEP member has the opportunity to shape
the College’s positions and priorities. This is done
through involvement in ACEP Council. The Council
meets every fall to discuss and vote on resolutions
that guide the activities of the College. The 2026
Council meeting will be held Saturday, October
3 and Sunday, October 4 in Chicago, Illinois, just
before ACEP26 Scientific Assembly.
Councillors and alternate councillors are key
participants in the leadership and development of
ACEP policy and have the responsibility to voice
the concerns of their (Pennsylvania) constituents
on the floor of the Council meeting and in
reference committees. Councillors can also express
the will of their constituents by voting for or
against resolutions and electing board members
and Council officers.
Any active PACEP member – residents, fellows and
practicing physicians – are eligible to serve as a
Councillor or Alternate Councillor! Experience in
policy or resolution writing is not required! This
year, Pennsylvania is allotted 19 councillors, as well
as alternates, and we are known for showing up!
Pennsylvania’s Councillors and alternates will be
part of PACEP’s resolution planning and writing
efforts, discussion of and response to all other
resolutions selected for review at the Council
meeting, and onsite Pennsylvania Delegation
events. This is an excellent opportunity to develop
new skills and form relationships that extend well
beyond the Council experience.
We want to know your opinions and
thoughts, and have you involved! If you
are interested in serving on PACEP’s 2026
Council Delegation, email a brief statement
of interest to exec@pacep.net by July 1, 2026.
Council resolution ideas should be emailed to
exec@pacep.net by June 15, 2026.
If you have any additional questions, contact
Brenda Dill, PACEP Executive Director, at exec@
pacep.net or visit the ACEP Council webpage.
We want you to get
involved!
