Advocacy
• Co-hosted medetomidine webinar with DOH and 
HAP on March 10, 2026.
• HB 2265 was introduced on March 4, was amended 
in the House Health Committee and subsequently 
passed out of committee on March 25.
• Dr. Werley and Dr. Cirillo were interviewed by ABC-27 
News (Hbg) on HB 2265 and our position to ensure 
patients presenting to the ED receive safe, quality 
care provided by a physician-led healthcare team.
• PACEP representatives attended Rep. Venkat’s 
fundraiser event on March 24.
• Surpassed PEP-PAC fundraising goal at PACEP26.
• Successful LAC participation by PACEP delegation.
• Initiated conversation with ACEP leadership 
pertaining to insurer bad behavior.
• Signed onto AAP Gun Violence Prevention 
Research Funding appropriations letter.
• Scheduled second Coffee Talk event of 2026 with 
Rep. Dan Williams and Rep. Doyle Heffley, chairs of 
the House Human Services Committee.
• Continued participation as key stakeholder in DOH 
ED Overcrowding Workgroups.
Education
• Held a successful PACEP26 Scientific Assembly, 
which included education sessions, Olympics, 
research presentations and competitions, 
exhibits and sponsors, social and networking 
opportunities, and award presentations.
• Spivey abstracts from PACEP26 published in  
JACEP Open.
• Survey to Eastern PA PDs launched for Residents 
Day event planning.
Engagement
• Dr. Werley recorded an episode for ACEP’s Built on 
Results podcast series highlighting HB 2265.
• Held introductory meeting with new MSC 
leadership on March 12, 2026.
• Consistent participation in monthly MSC Journal 
Club series.
• Continued focus on social media growth and 
engagement.
• Submitted biannual chapter report to ACEP.
Governance
• Transitioned new officers, board of directors, 
resident directors and leadership fellows.
• Conducted annual business meeting.
• Passed PACEP bylaws revisions.
• Initiated ACEP candidate interviews 
session in collaboration with NJ, 
OH, DE, CT chapters.
